iPhone Xs Max UK release – Apple Fans face disappointment as pre-orders go live

It might be most expensive smartphone ever but it seems the high price isn’t putting people off buying one.

This huge 6.5-inch device was announced earlier this week with the phone available to pre-order from today.

Prices start from £1,099 and rise to a whopping £1,499 for the ultimate 512GB version.

However, those trying to buy one are facing an extended wait of 2-3 weeks for shipping.

It’s currently unclear why the delivery time is so long as the smaller iPhone Xs will start to ship to customers as early next Friday.

The iPhone Xs Max models with the longest wait are the £1,099 64GB and £1,449 512GB models.

However, If you opt for the 256GB version that should be available within 1-2 weeks.

Along with its giant OLED display, there’s plenty of other reasons why this new Max device could be so popular.

Firstly, Apple has made its new flagship much more durable with the front and back glass design featuring the most durable glass ever in a smartphone with improved scratch resistance.

There’s also improvements to the dual-lens camera and the iPhone XS Max delivers a more immersive experience with over three million pixels for videos, movies and games.

Power is also upgraded via the new A12 Bionic processor which Apple is boasting delivers industry-leading performance in a more power-efficient design.

Faster Face ID, wider stereo sound, a new gold finish and introduce Dual SIM also feature.

Speaking about the new iPhone Philip Schiller, Apple’s senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing, said: “iPhone XS is not one, but two new iPhone models, and iPhone XS Max offers the biggest display ever in an iPhone with the biggest battery ever in an iPhone, delivering up to an hour and a half more battery life in your day.”

It’s worth noting that if you are desperate to get your hands the iPhone Xs Max then some mobile networks do appear to have stock.

Vodafone, O2 and EE are showing availability with the Max expected to be dispatched within seven days.
