I’m A Celebrity 2019 welcomed two new campmates in the shape of ex-Eastenders star Cliff Parisi and Coronation Street actor Andy Whyment. After successfully completing a group Bushtucker Trial where the main camp celebrities had to hold creepy crawlies in their mouths, all of the contestants are now living together. But why has the ITV camp been locked down?
Why is the I’m A Celebrity 2019 camp on lockdown?
Celebrities have only been living in the Australian campsite for just over a week now but plenty has already happened both in and off the show.
The most recent being ITV tightening its security around the camp after a body was found nearby.
New South Wales police launched a manhunt this week after a 50-year-old man was found dead in a sleeping bag in Jack Evans Boat Harbour, Tweed Heads.
The area, near the Queensland-New South Wales border, is just 30 minutes from Murwillumbah, where I’m A Celebrity 2019 is being filmed.

More than 100 bushfires are still burning around Australia with some close by including one at Lamington National Park, which is around 10 kilometres away, and a fire at Mount Nardi National Park, around 20 kilometres away.
A total fire ban in New South Wales has been put in place across the state because of the bushfires.
This is the reason there is no open fire for the first time in the ITV reality show’s 17-year history.
Instead, a gas stove has been installed for the celebrities to use.
