Hotel secrets: Did you know about THIS secret menu? Guests can order this hidden request

Hotel secrets have revealed some rather disgusting secrets over the years, from how clean the glasses are to how easy it is to spy through the keyhole.

Recently, it was revealed how taking a dog abroad could get guests a bigger room.

One thing that frequent travellers may not realise is that there is a secret menu offering some additional luxuries for the bedroom.

Anyone looking for a good night sleep can rejoice in utilising it.

Most hotels offer a separate pillow menu, according to hotel booking site Hotels.com.

They explain: “Many hotels these days want to offer travellers the luxuries of home, so pillow menus are the new norm.

“If you are prone to neck and back pains, ask about pillow options.

“The front desk usually has a huge selection from super firm to melty marshmallow.”

Hotels such as The Montcalm in London offer an extensive pillow menu for their guests.

Their website offers six different varieties, including a hypoallergenic pillow for anyone with allergies, or an ecological pillow for people who want an aromatherapy experience.

It also includes an anti-ageing pillow, which offers a 100 per cent cotton cover treated with vitamin E, or a ‘Manly Magic’ pillow for firmer versions, filled with 55 per cent goose feather and 45 per cent goose down outside.

There is one part of the bed that guests should avoid at all costs.

The hotel bed sheets could be much dirtier than they let on, depending if they have been previously washed.

The sheets may ave been used by a guest before, as Quora user Bruce Claver, who worked in luxury hospitality for 25 years, explained: “It is easier for the room attendant to make a bed instead of stripping it and putting on new sheets.”

With housekeepers under a lot of pressure to clean a certain amount of rooms within their shift, it may not come as much of a surprise.

This does mean that the sheets may contain sweats, saliva or urine fluids from guests who have slept in them before.
