According to reports, Great British Bake Off favourite Mary Berry’s replacement, Prue Leith, has allegedly locked horns with show stalwart Paul Hollywood.
“The feeling backstage has totally changed with the new line-up,” a source told The Sun. “Prue has told staff she can’t stand Paul.”
Whereas the original cast, including presenters Mel Giedroyc and Sure Perkins, would spend time together socialising off-set, it is said that the shake-up has left the Bake Off gang more dispersed.
The insider revealed that, in addition to Prue and Paul not getting along, the new hosts, Noel Fielding and Sandi Toksvig, also keep to themselves in between filming, enjoying time alone backstage.
They also claimed that Noel is refusing to taste the delicious cakes cooked up by the baking hopefuls for fear of “getting fat”.
“Worst of all, Sandi does not seem to have any interest in the contestants off-screen like Mel and Sue used to,” the source added.
However, a spokesperson for Channel 4 told the publication: “The Great British Bake Off team get on brilliantly and together have all the ingredients for a show-stopping series.”
The news comes after rumours emerged that Noel had been “struggling to bond” with Paul for lack of mutual ground.
The first series of the revamped Bake Off is set to air later this summer at its new home on Channel 4, with only Paul left from the original foursome.
