Google Maps: Users discover a giant face hiding in mountains – but where did it come from?

Google Maps is an incredible platform to explore the world from your sitting room.

The camera footage covers all four corners of the world, so you can explore anywhere you like.

It also gives users the opportunity to spot weird and wonderful phenomena from around the world.

A giant face shape discovered in the mountains of Alberta, Canada is a brilliant example of the strange things users can find.

It can be found using the Google Maps website to find the coordinates 50.010083,-110.113006.

The incredible phenomena is based is Cypress Country, Canada.

The mountain plains and trees below are arranged exactly like facial features.

The face image is clearly defined with heavy eyebrows, closed eyes, nose, lips and a chin.

It is crowned by what looks like a Native American headdress with multiple plumes sticking upwards from the head.

Curiously, it also appears that the face is wearing headphones with long wires.

The site is marked by a red flag, and it is named “Badlands Guardian”.

So how did it come about? Although hard to believe, it seems the face is not man-made.

It is popularly believed to be a natural phenomena which has emerged over time.

Meanwhile, the long headphone wires are actually part of a road.

This isn’t the only weird and wonderful site users have spotted on Google Maps.

Spotted in Aberdeen is a young man on Google Maps travelling the long Esplanade that runs down Aberdeen Bay.

He is wearing jumping stilts, which resemble smaller pogo sticks that people run and perform tricks on.

He is also wearing gloves and a helmet, taking his safety seriously.

The man’s skills, however, appear to be lacking. He has fallen flat on his back and is lying on the footpath.

He has his arms above his head and is looking up into the air.

It is unclear if he had a nasty fall or is playing up to the cameras, but his splayed legs suggest the former.
