Golden Globes 2018 WORST dressed: Stars miss the mark on the red carpet

The Golden Globes was attended by the great and the good of Hollywood last night, with the majority wearing black in solidarity with sexual abuse victims.

Style was still at the forefront of many of the celebrities minds, with a host of stunning dresses making their way to the awards.

But not everyone managed to make the dress code work for them, with a selection of women choosing unflattering dresses.

There were three notable breaks to the sea of black, including a very revealing red dress by Blanca Blanco, 36, and a red beaded dress by Hollywood Foreign Press Association President Meher Tatna. German model Barbara Meier, 31, wore an extravagant pink and grey princess gown.

Blanca Blanco chose a red dress slashed to the hip, slashed across the chest, and slashed on the arm. It was also sleeveless on one side, and left very little to the imagination.

Looking decidedly classier, but sadly not much better, was Margot Robbie, 27.

The gorgeous Australian drowned her frame in a boxy Gucci gown, which had oversized square shoulder pads.

Saoirse Ronan, 23, also wore a dress with extreme shoulder pads, giving her otherwise simple black Versace gown a futuristic edge.

Kerry Washington, 40, star of TV hit Scandal, chose a baggy sequin Prabal Gurung dress which she paired with a unflattering mesh ankle boots.

And veteran Hollywood star Salma Hayek, 51, famed for her incredible figure, did not make the most of it in her lycra-stretch dress.

Shailene Woodley, 26, added a hint of colour to her black outfit, with a white and black print top which she paired with a full black skirt. But the top, though bold, did not flatter Woodley, with the high neckline and restrictive fabric looking uncomfortable rather than glamorous.

Kate Hudson, 38, was another A list star who did not make her best turn on the red carpet. She chose a plunging, sheer gown which barely covered her chest. Underneath the sheer skirt, Hudson wore a pair of black shorts.

Not all of the stars missed the mark, with some celebrities looking stunning on the red carpet. Celebrities stormed the red carpet dressed in black this year in protest, wearing a pin that reads ‘Time’s Up’.

Halle Berry looked incredible in a lacy sheer black number that showed off her amazing figure.

Angelina Jolie wore a black dress and a sheer cape with feathers along the bottom.

Game of Thrones’ Emilia Clarke wore a busty black column dress with a diamond choker.
