Zinedine Zidane has instead shown faith in youth this campaign, handing opportunities to Isco, Marco Asensio and Lucas Vazquez.
And with Isco expected to start in the Champions League final against Juventus on Saturday, Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo claim this could spell the end for Bale.
The report says if the Welshman is benched it could trigger Manchester United to move for the former Tottenham man.
Manchester United previously tried to sign Bale in 2013 prior to his move from Spurs to the Bernabeu.
And Express Sport understands he has since reemerged as a target for the Red Devils this summer.
Jose Mourinho revealed last week he had already made known his transfer requests to United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward.
However, there is no doubt an exception could be made to bring in Bale should he force a move if snubbed in the Champions League final.
Spanish outlet Diario Gol claimed last week the Wales international has been working tirelessly to be fit for the final.
And if he is unfairly treated and misses the game, his agent Jonathan Barnett will reportedly not hesitate to begin the process of a move to United.
Bale has made just 26 appearances in all competitions for Real this season due to reoccurring ankle and calf injuries.
He is under contract at the Bernabeu until June 2022.
