Game of Thrones season 8 episode 5: Bran Stark turns into Night King in finale twist?

Game of Thrones is nearing the end and fans can expect more twists and turns in the remaining two episodes.

The HBO fantasy show killed off the Night King (played by Vladimir Furdik) in episode three, The Long Night, which made for a considerable shock because he was the main threat of the show.

However, a new theory has emerged suggesting he will return to Game of Thrones following an epic Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead Wright) revelation.

Many believe they will not see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) or Jon Snow (Kit Harington) on the Iron Throne, rather, Bran will take his place there.

But would he be a benevolent leader? Not if one Reddit user is correct as they believe he is actually the Night King.

The theory coined by culaso has penned what he believes will be the final scene in episode six, which is currently unnamed.

They write: “Scene is zoomed in to the pedestal of the Throne. It’s coming slowly up.

“We see the royal robe, and then we see the face of Bran Stark.”

The forum user dramatically continues: “His eyes are white, he is warning. It lasts for seconds.

“He shuts his eyes. When he opens them, they are BLUE.”

Although subtle, it would confirm Bran as a White Walker, and when added to his new title of the leader of Westeros, it would make him a quite literal Night King.

The theory has been doing the rounds for the past couple of years as many noted Bran’s connection with the Night King.

Previously in Game of Thrones, the deadly villain grabbed on to Bran’s arm and marked his arm.

This was previously used as a narrative device to ensure the Night King always knew where his nemesis was.

Could the mark on his arm actually work like Greyscale, and take over his body to forcibly transform him into the Night King?

Meanwhile, many believe the only reason to stop Daenerys from taking the Iron Throne she so desperately believes is hers is by killing her.

The woman currently tipped for the job is Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) who previously saved the day by slaying the Night King.

The young warrior was told she would shut eyes of different colours and she still has green left to take.

With Daenerys being the proud owner of some green eyes, will Arya be the one to crush her hopes of the Throne?

Game of Thrones continues Sunday on HBO in the USA and the following day on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK.
