Fortnite secret battle star hunt update ahead of Blockbuster Week 8 loading screen news

Epic Games have provided extra weekly challenges to those Fortnite Battle Royale fans who think they can complete all the tasks laid out in front of them.

Season 4 saw new Blockbuster challenges added to the game, with the main of providing players with a secret battle star location.

By completing all seven weekly challenges, Fortnite players can unlock a special loading screen.

This loading screen provides clues to a secret star, which can be found on the map, and add an extra battle tier.

The extra layer to this challenge was confirmed earlier this month when it was revealed that by solving all the Blockbuster loading screens, you unlock a special skin.

But when it comes to the Week 8 loading screen challenge, fans believe something might be changing.

Having seen the usual challenge prize arrive early, Fortnite gamers have had plenty of time to look over the Fortnite Week 8 Blockbuster loading screen.

However, having looked at the available evidence, no one was able to find the hidden star location.

This has led to the working theory that there will be no more secret stars found in the loading screens.

Instead, the loading screens will now provide clues on what’s coming next in Season 5.

As fans have already unlocked the Blockbuster “Visitor” skin last week, it would make sense that Epic Games were moving onto something new.

It should be mentioned that this is just a working theory among fans and hasn’t been confirmed by the development team, who could be doing something different.

When it comes to what the missile will actually do to the map, some believe it will destroy the movie set, found in Moisty Mire.

This is linked back to a much older leak from a supposed insider, who claimed that more subtle changes to the map would be made in Season 4.

As mentioned above, The seventh and final loading screen challenge features an appearance by The Visitor.

The secret star can just about be seen in the background, above the mysterious new character’s landing pod.

Fans can find this star by entering the lab in the middle of Dusty Divot.

Provided you’ve completed all of the challenges, you’ll find the star atop the shuttle inside the lab.

Anybody skilled enough to have completed all seven Blockbuster challenges will be rewarded with the customisable Visitor skin.

As regular Fortnite players now, the weekly challenges have been leaking in advance of it going officially live on Thursday in the season 4 Battle Pass.

These Fortnite challenges have been leaking every Saturday and have been sourced by dataminers going through the Battle Royale game files.

Because these challenges have been sourced directly from Fortnite files, they have invariably turned out to be completely accurate.

The only exceptions have been when Fortnite challenges have leaked early, so they’re listed as tasks for one week when it’s in fact for a later week.

However the leaked list of Fortnite week 8 challenges currently have two blanks.

Here is the Fortnite week 8 leaked challenges list, as sourced by Fortnite Tracker:

  • Deal Headshot damage to opponents (250)
  • Search treasure chests in Salty Springs (7)
  • Search 7 chests in a single match (7)
  • TBD
  • Search between… (HARD) (1)
  • Suppressed Weapon eliminations (HARD) (3)
  • Eliminate opponents in Pleasant Park (HARD) (3)
