Forget Hearthstone on Nintendo Switch, THIS game could fill the gap

Hearthstone may not be coming to Nintendo Switch, but one of its rivals might still make the jump.

Hearthstone game director Ben Brode told DualShockers that the competitive card game isn’t necessarily the best fit for the device.

“It’s possible but right now we don’t have any plans to do that,” he said about a Switch port.

“We are already on mobile so a lot of players who have Switches also have mobile devices and they could play on those devices or tablets.

“There are things like you have to be online to play with players and you keep your collection online so there’s stuff that is just a little more challenging there.

“I love the Switch; I’m a big fan of that console. I have a Switch that I play all the time so I think everyone gets how awesome it is.

“I’m not sure that Hearthstone would be 100 percent perfect there. Also, we’re also servicing a lot of those players via mobile and tablet. So, I don’t know but we don’t have any current plans,” he added.

Fortunately, Elder Scrolls Legends might step in to fill the gap.

That’s according to another DualShockers interview, in which Bethesda Community Manager Pete Hines expresses an interest in a potential Switch port.

“Honestly I think everything is on the table,” Hines said.

“At the end of the day – and this is true for every game, not just Legends – we like to try and get our games to as many platforms as possible, so that as many people as possible have the option to play.

Hines points towards games like Doom and Wolfenstein 2, which in the case of Doom, has successfully been ported to Switch.

“You see it on the Switch when we bring games like Doom and Skyrim and Wolfenstein 2,” he continued.

“We spend a lot of time and effort making these things, and the bigger the audience, the better. So yeah, I would love to see us do this on consoles and Switch.

“But there is a lot of things that we want to do to continue to grow the competitive scene anbd put out new content, to update and refresh the UI and the player experience.

“We have a giant bucket list of stuff we’re constantly working on, so yeah. I hope that happens, but we’ll have to see.”
