Expand your mind during your morning commute

For many, the commute to and from work can be mind numbing. Glazing over in traffic or staring out of bus windows can be depressing. Even getting to the next level of your game of Monument Valley isn’t exactly motivational.

However, you can change your commute into an experience that boosts your morale and taps into your potential by subscribing to self-improvement podcasts. Many of these need only 10 minutes a day to put you in a good mood and on the right track toward having a productive time at work or a relaxing evening at home. There are also long form pieces, of an hour or two, with interviews of famous people who share their secrets of success.

Of course the landscape of podcasts is overwhelming these days even within the specific genre of self-improvement. How do you know which to listen to? What if you listen and don’t like it, but it turns out that episode was just not a great representation of the show?

Below, TheZebra.com put together a well-researched list of some of the most popular self-improvement podcasts under different headings so you can find what you are looking for. These even have examples of the best episodes to start with so you’ll be sure to get a good idea of what the podcast is like. These range from Podcasts like “Happier” which gives you uplifting content about reaching your goals to “The Tim Ferriss Show” which highlights interviews with successful performers with tips to inspire your next presentation.

Whatever you choose, it is likely to be much better for your mind than getting to the end of another Sudoku.
