The ITV soap has now released a first-look video which shows David (played by Matthew Wolfenden) just moments away from uncovering the unlawful relationship between Maya (Louisa Clein) and Jacob (Joe-Warren Plant).
It comes as David goes to confront his son in the village hall where he has just been kissing with Maya on Emmerdale.
The teacher quickly hides from David but it transpires he isn’t on the warpath because he knows what sick Maya has been up to.
He’s angry because his date night with Maya was been sabotaged by the youngster when he got David to look after Amba.
But when David rages in the hall, Jacob thinks he’s discovered what’s been going on with Maya as she desperately tries to evade detection just metres away in her hiding place.
“I know what you’ve done Jake,” David warns and it’s clear Jacob thinks he’s talking about Maya before he suddenly comes to his senses and realises it’s all about him meddling with the date night.
“Oh, of course,” Jacob declares as the realisation hits him.
“Have we got out wires crossed or something?” David probes
“I think so,” Jacob replies before David interrogates: “So what did you think I meant when I said I knew what you’d done?”
However, his line of questioning is interrupted when Maya accidentally makes a huge racket in her hiding place and David’s suspicions are raised.
“Is someone else here?” he asks as Jacob denies it.
But David dashes to the room where Maya is hiding, although, before he can get there, Jacob accuses him of never putting his kids first.
It could be that Jacob’s attempts are futile as David then finds one of Maya’s earrings lying on the floor.
Is the jig finally up for the abuser? Viewers will have to wait and see.
Earlier this week on the soap, Maya slept with the teenager for the first time following a series of interruptions on previous attempts.
They had initially arranged to have sex on Jacob’s 16th birthday but it didn’t go to plan.
This week, Jacob went to meet Maya at the hotel where she had intended to meet David, and the teacher was wearing a rather revealing outfit.
A spokesperson told The Sun: “We’ve received 21 complaints about those scenes in Emmerdale, which we are assessing against our broadcasting rules, before deciding whether or not to investigate.”
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
