Convinced Liv Flaherty (Isobel Steele) was behind the threatening text messages he’d been receiving, Lachlan caused a gas leak in Mill Cottage.
Fortunately his plan did not work, but Liv remembered seeing him before she passed out.
The teen even confronted Lachlan over what he had done, but he began to taunt her by opening a beer.
Viewers will remember Liv turned to alcohol following her difficult spell in a young offender’s institute earlier in the year.
Liv was later seen drinking the beverage in a cricket field as her brother Aaron Dingle (Danny Miller) and Robert Sudden (Ryan Hawley) feared for her whereabouts.
She returned home to find the pair had called the police out of worry, and the pair were furious to find out she’d been drinking.
However, the moment prompted Liv to open up about what Lachlan had done.
Subsequently, fans of the soap wondered whether Robert and Aaron would take revenge on evil Lachlan.
“Liv 🙁 #emmerdale Robron have to murder Lachlan now, it’s the law,” one wrote on Twitter.
Other said: ”For gods sake!!! Don’t let Lachlan do this to Liv. Let Robert/Aaron/Paddy sort him out once and for all.”
“Rob shouldn’t blame himself or feel guilty, it’s not his fault. Lachlan better pay #Emmerdale #Robron,” a third added.
While Aaron wasn’t so convinced by Liv’s explanation, Robert saw there was something to the accusations.
And it could turn out that Robert will be the one to expose Lachlan after all.
In an upcoming episode, Robert’s suspicions get the better of him and he begins to investigate Rebecca White’s (Emily Head) disappearance.
After Rebecca interrupted Lachlan’s plans to kill off Robert and Liv in the gas leak, Lachlan lashed out and seemingly kidnapped his aunt.
But Robert’s determined to get to the bottom of it.
He goes to Rebecca’s room where he ends up finds something truly shocking.
But it isn’t known what he finds, so viewers will just have to wait and see if it can help to bring down Lachlan.
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm on ITV.
