The BBC soap has been cancelled due to the FA Cup, which will see Wolverhampton Wanderers play against Liverpool.
The match kicks off at 7.45pm meaning the football will take up much of tonight’s schedule on BBC One.
Match of the Day coverage will begin on the BBC at 7.30pm.
But fans shouldn’t be too disappointed about EastEnders’ cancellation.
The long-running BBC soap will instead air twice on Friday 11 January.
Furthermore, fans were given an extra episode of EastEnders last week on Wednesday evening as well as a double dose on Thursday to reveal the fall out from Mel Owen’s (played by Tamzin Outhwaite) wedding.
The BBC schedule will go back to normal tomorrow evening with EastEnders set to air at 7.30pm.
The synopsis for the next episode reads: “Tiffany feels uncomfortable around Evie. Linda tries to support Mick.
“Max’s idea to make Abi’s birthday special does not go to plan.”
It comes after it was reported Hunter Owen (Charlie Winter) would be written out of the soap.
It’s not known how the teen will be leaving the soap but it has been hinted it will be a dramatic event.
“Bosses are staying tight-lipped on exactly how Hunter exits Walford, but after he shot Ray dead at New Year, it promises to be dramatic,” an insider told Digital Spy.
“Hunter will be on our screens for a while yet and there is still a lot more drama to come as he and his mum are faced with the fall out of his actions.”
It seems likely Hunter will leave if police discover he shot Ray Kelly (Sean Mahon).
The youngster shot his step dad after he tried to strangle his mum Mel.
Since Ray’s death, Hunter claimed he was shocked by his actions.
However, he was seen playing with the gun he used to shoot Ray.
Could police discover the gun leading to the teen leaving Walford in the back of a police car?
EastEnders continues Tuesday on BBC One at 7.30pm.
