Coronation Street viewers last saw Nicola (played by Nicola Thorpe) being told by Pat (Connor McIntyre) that he didn’t want anything more to do with her.
Despite doting on his daughter and being incredibly excited for the birth of his first grandchild, he was forced to cut all ties with her after discovering her backstabbing secret.
This emotional conversation came after Pat found out that Nicola had been plotting with Gary Windass (Mikey North) to take him down.
Since then, fans have seen Pat on the cusp of being caught when the bodies of his victims were almost discovered in the lake.
This subsequently lead to Pat getting trapped inside a vat of wet cement, doomed to be stuck there forever.
Eventually Pat was saved and was taken back by his wife Eileen (Sue Cleaver) after some of his crimes came out.
However, with Pat’s impending comeuppance on its way, will he manage to be around for the birth of his grandchild?
Nicola recently spoke to Digital Spy about the character’s upcoming birth and what viewers can expect from the labour.
“As you can imagine, it’s soap,” she teased. “It’s not going to be a straightforward birth by any means.
“I’ve heard rumours about how it happens, but we’ll see.
“It’s got to be soon!” she added.
Nicola is also curious as to who will be around when the baby is finally due.
She continued: “I just can’t wait to see who will be in the room with Nicola at the time.
“Will it be Gary? Will it be Dev if she starts giving birth in Alahans’ and has to be rushed to hospital?!
“I’d like to see how the men respond!”
Coronation Street continues tonight at 7.30pm on ITV.
