The situation came as a great amusement to her co-host Dan Walker who held the show together as Louise was forced to walk off the set.
It all unfolded on BBC Breakfast as the camera cut back to focus on the presenting pair after an interview with Justice Secretary David Gauke.
However, Louise looked aghast as her mobile started unexpectedly making a sound on the BBC programme.
“Oh god sorry, that is so embarrassing,” she exclaimed.
A confused Louise appeared unable to turn it off as she said: “How have I done that?
“I’m literally going to have to walk off set.”
Louise then made her way out of view of the camera as she walked to hand her phone over to a crew member.
Dan laughed: “She’s walking off set.
“She’s walking off. She’s embarrassed. That’s Louise’s new podcast.”
Returning to her position beside Dan, Louise declared: “I’m really properly embarrassed.”
“It’s alright. It’s still going. Have you managed to turn it off?” Dan chuckled as he spoke to someone who was off-camera.
Louise asked: “How have I done that? I really do profusely apologise.”
“It was your phone and you pressed play,” Dan explained.
Louise continued as she put her head in her hands: “I don’t even know what I did. I apologise profusely.”
“Oh you really are embarrassed aren’t you,” Dan observed.
