Avengers Infinity War: Will THIS character be killed by Thanos? Big ramifications for Thor

Amongst all the characters being touted as potential victims, Loki has rarely been one of them.

However a post on the Fan Theories subreddit by user Murteza_King suggests that he will be wiped out by Thanos after helping out the Hulk.

Pointing to a moment in the trailer, they wrote: “at 00:9 we see Banner in a Big Crater the Result of Falling from a High Altitude and Guess where he Lands [sic].

“The Sanctum Sanctorum (Doctor Strange HQ) now wonder why? why that exact Place… in Thor Ragnarok Loki was in the Sanctum Sanctorum so he know about the Location in order to Transport the Hulk… there is no Other Way he Could have gotten there.”

The user pointed to a moment in the trailer where we see Loki holding the Tesseract, which Murteza_King suggested was “pretending to give it to Thanos but instead [teleporting] the Hulk to the Sanctum Sanctorum.”

When Thanos is then seen holding the Space Gem in the same place, it is suggested that perhaps Thanos could have “killed [Loki] for betraying him and teleporting the Hulk.”

Another user replied: “I think that fits and would be an awesome comic plot. Disney/Marvel/Lucas I suspect will only kill Loki if Hiddleston is done playing him, so I suspect he will survive.”

The relationship between Loki and his brother Thor has been fascinating throughout the current MCU phase, so his loss would certainly have big ramifications for Chris Hemsworth’s on-screen alter ego.

Ultimately the departures in Avengers Infinity War and its as-yet-untitled sequel are anyone’s guess, and the movie only has a few months to go before its release.

Avengers 4 has recently finished filming, leaving the Russo brothers with two blockbusters’ worth of post production work to be getting on with.

Avengers: Infinity War is out on April 27 in the UK.
