Are Meghan Markle’s ‘trendy-lefty’ views causing ‘an issue’ with Harry’s friends?

Meghan Markle, an LA native and former-actress, became the Duchess of Sussex in May.

Since she has been on a number of official royal excursions with Prince Harry and released a charity cook book.

However, a socialite has claimed that some of Meghan’s views are causing an issue in the royal company she now keeps.

Lady Colin Campbell told The Daily Beast: “Her politics are an issue. She is ultra-liberal and that trendy-lefty stuff does not go down well with some of Harry’s friends.

“He has introduced her to them all at parties and weddings and private dinners, but she is very anti- a lot of the things that their world functions upon, such as shooting.”

Lady Colin Campbell has come under fire before for making claims about the Royal Family.

She published a book about the Queen and Prince Philip’s marriage, which was criticised by former BBC Royal Correspondent Jennie Bond who said: “I don’t see any need to discuss the Queen’s love life and marriage. It’s distasteful, unnecessary and tawdry.”

At the time a Buckingham Palace spokeswoman told Express.co.uk they would not comment on the book.

Meghan is thought to be an animal rights activist.

Gina Nelthorpe-Cowne, who worked as Meghan’s agent for two years from October 2014 to October 2016.

The Independent reported that Gina claimed Meghan refused to promote fur or animal products when she worked with her.

It was reported by the Sun on 23 December 2017 that Prince Harry did not take part in a Boxing Day shoot due to Meghan’s view on hunting.

The paper reported an insider said: “The Boxing Day shoot was always going to be a tricky issue.

“Meghan is a keen animal rights campaigner and doesn’t like hunting in any form.

“Harry loves it and has always been out there on Boxing Day. But if it means breaking with long-standing royal traditions to avoid upsetting her, so be it.”

The paper then reported that Harry also missed this summer’s grouse hunt on 31 August, due to Meghan’s views.

Meghan Markle is a feminist, and worked with the UN as an advocate for gender equality and the empowerment of women.

In a speech at the UN on International Women’s Day 2015 the Duchess of Sussex told attendees: “I am proud to be a woman and a feminist.”

Meghan Markle’s Grenfell cookbook project is her first solo project as a royal.

In snaps released by the Palace of Meghan cooking up a storm, the 37-year-old shows off her “Markle Sparkle” in minimal makeup, jeans and a casual shirt.

The community cookbook is being produced in aid of the victims of Grenfell tower, helping the local community and those affected.

In the stills released by Kensington Palace, Meghan beams and appears to be in her element, working to prepare meals with a group of women in the kitchen.

Taking a break from designer dresses and elaborate hats, the former actress looked at her most relaxed in a casual white shirt and pair of blue jeans.
