Eagle-eyed Marvel fans know Stan Lee tends to cameo in many of the movies based on his comics.
After he missed an in-person appearance in Deadpool 2, fans were left wondering if something was wrong.
For all the new faces to Ant-Man and the Wasp, did you spot Stan Lee? Was Stan Lee in Ant-Man and the Wasp?
Yes, Stan Lee did make an appearance in Ant-Man and the Wasp.
His cameo in the Ant-Man sequel brings his total number of appearances in Marvel movies to 21.
Lee’s cameo fits well into the plot, which sees Scott Lang (played by Paul Rudd) under house arrest after the events of Civil War.
Hope van Dyne (Evangeline Lily) and Hank Pym (Michael Douglas) present Ant-Man with a new mission to try and find the original Wasp (Michelle Pfieffer) Janet van Dyne.
Ant-Man and his team aren’t the only ones trying to find Janet who is lost in the quantum realm, however.
During a car chase, Lee makes his cameo.
Stan Lee, 95, is seen walking up to his car when the vehicle is hit with a shrinking disc, disappearing from sight.
The stunned Lee says to himself: “The ’60s were great but now I’m paying for it.”
The joke being Lee indulged in psychedelics in the heyday of the 60s in San Francisco, whose Haight-Ashbury area was known for being the blossoming point of the summer of love.
Lee’s cameo is short and sweet – and very funny.
But fans in the UK will have to wait a bit longer to see it as Ant-Man and The Wasp is being released in UK cinemas on Thursday, August 2, 2018.
Fans of the Paul Rudd superhero movie started a petition online to push Marvel into moving the date in sync with the USA’s release which was unsuccessful.
Marvel stated the reasoning behind the month delay between the UK and USA release dates.
Moving the date forward in alignment with America’s July 6 release would mean Ant-Man and The Wasp would have to compete with the FIFA World Cup live final on 15 July.
Ant-Man and the Wasp is in UK cinemas Thursday, August 2, 2018.
